I am the point person for a group of individuals that have been purchasing 3-4 steers and 2-3 hogs a year for the last 15 years. The processing business we used for the first 13 years closed two years ago. We tried one processing business in 2013 and it was a disaster – lack of customer service, cutting instructions wrong, and too much wasted packaging making storage difficult. In 2014 Caledonia Packing was recommended. I could not have been happier with the results. Communication was excellent, order verification, pulling everything together, and packaging were all great.
